Agriculture futures trade lower on the CBOT

[March 12, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures fell Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for May delivery lost 2.75 cents to $4.7875 a bushel, while May corn shed 0.25 cent to $3.6525 a bushel and oats for May delivery dropped 1.5 cents to $2.165 a bushel. May soybeans plunged 27.5 cents to $9.305 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures traded mixed and pork futures slid on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

April live cattle slipped 0.05 cent to 93.82 cents a pound; April feeder cattle gained 0.08 cent to $1.051 a pound; April lean hogs edged down 0.68 cent to 71.87 cents a pound; and May pork bellies fell 0.5 cent to 92.5 cents a pound.
