Upcoming blood drives in Logan County

[March 29, 2010]  Local blood drives need your help with blood donations for patients in area hospitals. The Central Illinois Community Blood Center is offering several opportunities to donate blood in Logan County.

Monday, April 5

  • Mount Pulaski -- Farmers Bank, 130 S. Washington; 9 a.m.-noon

  • Lincoln -- Masonic Center, 2022 N. Kickapoo; noon-6 p.m.

Thursday, April 8

  • Lincoln -- Heartland Community College, 620 Broadway; 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Saturday, April 10

  • Emden -- Christian Church, 214 Corn St.; 9 a.m.-noon

In addition, the CICBC donor room, located at 1134 S. Seventh St. in Springfield, is open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Appointments at any blood drive or the donor center may be scheduled online at www.cicbc.org or by calling toll-free 1-866-GIVE-BLD, ext. 131. Walk-ins are also always welcome.

Nursing Homes

The Central Illinois Community Blood Center is a not-for-profit organization that provides blood to 19 area hospitals. Blood collected at these drives is intended for local hospitals.
