Grains futures trade higher; livestock prices rise

[May 01, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures traded higher Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery rose 7.5 cents to $5.03 a bushel; July corn gained 6.25 cents to $3.7525 a bushel; July soybeans added 3 cents to $9.99 a bushel; and July oats rose 1.75 cents to $2.1375 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle rose 0.35 cent to 94.22 cents a pound; August feeder cattle gained 0.25 cent to $1.1607 a pound; June lean hogs climbed 2.50 cents to 86.32 cents a pound; and May pork bellies added 1.40 cents to 98.80 cents a pound.
