[May 01, 2010]  CLINTON, Ark. (AP) -- Central Arkansas authorities are clearing debris and assessing damage from tornadoes that killed at least one person and injured two dozen others.

Officials say several reported tornadoes ripped through the state Friday night. More severe weather was predicted Saturday.

Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Renee Preslar says the death was reported in Van Buren County, about 75 miles north of Little Rock. A sheriff's department dispatcher said further details were expected later Saturday morning.

Two dozen other people were reported hurt across Van Buren and several other counties. But Preslar says local officials who provide information to the state agency haven't released the severity of the injuries.
