Grains futures slide, livestock trades higher

[May 04, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures fell Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery slipped 1.25 cents to $5.0175 a bushel; July corn fell 3.75 cents to $3.715 a bushel; July soybeans dropped 12.5 cents to $9.865 a bushel; and July oats fell .75 cent to $2.13 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures advanced on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle rose 1.3 cents to 95.52 cents a pound; August feeder cattle gained 0.58 cent to $1.1665 a pound; June lean hogs climbed .60 cent to 86.92 cents a pound; and May pork bellies rose 0.92 cent to 99.72 cents a pound.
