[May 04, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Betty L. Cox, 78, of Lincoln, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at The Christian Village.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 25, 1932. Her parents were Dean and Elizabeth Ann Shaw Frantz.

She is survived by her son, John Kerry Cox, and his wife, Tina, of Lincoln; one granddaughter, Jamie Sprinkle, and her husband, Brad, of Springfield; one grandson, Christopher John Cox of Galesburg; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Werschey, and her husband, Bob, of Decatur; and one brother, Roger Frantz, and his wife, Lucille, of McLean.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Karen Sue Cox-Battin; and one sister, Phyllis Young.

She enjoyed crafts and flowers and was very family-oriented. Her family members, especially the little children, were the flowers in her garden of life.

Funeral Directors

Memorial donations may be made to the great-grandchildren's education fund in care of the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
