Resolution recognizing West Lincoln-Broadwell volleyball team

[May 06, 2010]  Below is a copy of a Logan County Board resolution recognizing the West Lincoln-Broadwell volleyball team:

WHEREAS, participating in athletics helps students learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and the skills to handle competitive situations, and

WHEREAS, studies have shown that girls receive as many benefits from sports as boys, and

WHEREAS, this year was the first time in 10 years that the West Lincoln Broadwell girls volleyball team won the regional Illinois Elementary School Association competition, and

WHEREAS, this year was the first time in 13 years that the West Lincoln Broadwell girls volleyball team qualified for the IESA state tournament, and

WHEREAS, the West Lincoln Broadwell girls volleyball team participated in the state IESA tournament at Hartsburg-Emden Junior/Senior High School on March 20,

NOW THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED that the Logan County Board congratulate athletes Michelle Paulus, Kylie Fitzsimmons, Livvie Muck, Leah Anderson, Betsy Olson, Lexee Klockenga, Brook Soebbing, Tara Bradley, Alex Turner, Adrienne Klockenga and Kaylyn Hoffert and Coach Dawn Crawford and Assistant Coach Kate Anderson on their team's achievement and wish them continued success in their future endeavors.

Adopted by resolution of the Logan County Board on April 20, 2010.
