[May 08, 2010]  LOS ANGELES (AP) -- British authorities have confirmed a decision clearing the deal combining concert promoter Live Nation with ticketing giant Ticketmaster.

The U.K. Competition Commission cleared the deal in December, but held new hearings after an appeal by Germany's CTS Eventim AG, which contracted with Live Nation to sell tickets in Britain.

The commission said Eventim will continue to receive a fee for every ticket sold by Live Nation and will receive tickets to sell on its own in Britain.

The chairman of the commission's inquiry group, Christopher Clarke, said in a statement Friday that Eventim's success in Britain will "depend on its own efforts and abilities."
