The LTEC auto mechanics classes sponsored a charity car wash and show all day on Friday, May 7. This was a charity event, not a fundraiser, with all proceeds going to the St. Jude Children's Hospital. Car washes were $5.

The class ended up washing 50 cars and had 40 cars in the car show. Included were Tim Wilkerson's funny car and a Wayne Butler funny car. They also had four dragsters, a dozen or more street cars, a dozen or more '40-'50-era cars, two semis brought out by John Barrick, a winged sprint car, and a pair of custom pickup trucks.

For being cold, windy and threatening to rain all day, there was a good turnout. The class also received donations from Graue Inc., Jim Xamis, NAPA, O'Reilly's and Fastenal for door prizes and for the car wash.
