The
Lincoln Woman's Club will host its annual spring luncheon on
Wednesday, May 19, at noon in the Alumni Room of Lincoln
College. The program will be presented by the speech team members of
Lincoln Community High School. After the meeting, club members will
tour the new Lincoln Center at the college.
The
Christian Village is inviting the public to a free
International Celebration of Seniors this Saturday. Free food, music
and prizes will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Participants will each be given a special passport that can be
stamped at several locations during the celebration. When the
passport is completed, it will go into a drawing for gift
certificates to local restaurants and businesses.
The Christian Village offers a range of senior living options,
including garden homes, senior apartments, assisted living, skilled
nursing care, Reclaim Rehabilitation and the Haven Center Memory
Care Unit.
The Christian Village is among the 14 senior living communities
of Christian Homes, the second-largest not-for-profit long-term
health care provider in the U.S., with campuses in Indiana,
Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.
The
Logan County Genealogical & Historical Society will meet on
Monday, May 17, at 6:30 p.m. at 114 N. Chicago St. in Lincoln. Vicki
Crane will give a presentation entitled "Dealing with Adversity."
The public is invited to attend.
In honor of Logan County veterans, the book "This Is Our Story,
Volume 2," a collection of Logan County veterans' stories, is now
available for $45. Veterans may purchase the book for $40.

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on
