The Lincoln & Logan County Development
Partnership, which is the economic development agency for Logan
County, will host a fundraising luncheon at Lincoln College on June
18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The theme of the luncheon is "Logan
County's Future is in the Wind." Kevin Borgia, executive director of
the Illinois Wind Energy Association, will be the featured speaker.

This is the partnership's first fundraising luncheon to raise
revenue for economic development in Logan County. Within the last
six months, the partnership launched the Center of Success business
incubator program, was awarded a $50,000 grant to conduct an
economic development master plan, launched a local SCORE office in
Lincoln and is working with USDA to bring state funding agencies to
Lincoln on June 8 to bring local engineers and communities with
infrastructure agencies. The partnership is also working with
several prospects interested in Logan County and is helping to
coordinate a state pavilion in Dallas at Wind Power 2010.
According to the Illinois Wind Energy Association: "Wind energy is
good for our state. Wind brings cleaner air and water, rural
economic development and electric price stability. Wind farms also
create well-paying jobs in construction, maintenance, and
manufacturing, provide millions in local tax revenue and annual
landowner payments, and helps diversify the state's electric
portfolio."
Table sponsorships are now available at $500 each. For more
information, please contact Joel Smiley at 217-732-8739.
The Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership is a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit agency.
