Campbell Brown leaving CNN's prime time

[May 19, 2010]  NEW YORK (AP) -- Campbell Brown says she's leaving her prime-time show on CNN primarily for one reason -- not enough people are watching her.

The former NBC reporter's straight news show at 8 p.m. struggles in comparison with Bill O'Reilly, Keith Olbermann and Nancy Grace, the opinionated cable news rivals in the same time slot.

Brown says it was her decision to leave and she'll stay until CNN has a replacement. She says she owed it to CNN to get out of the way so the network can try somebody else. She says she'll leave the network entirely.

Cable news viewers have increasingly turned to edgier, opinionated shows in prime time, leaving behind CNN and its effort to be non-biased.
