[May 19, 2010]  Tylon Deal, point guard for Peoria Richwoods, has signed with Lincoln College. He helped his team to a 30-3 record and second-place finish in the Class 3 IHSA state tournament earlier this year.

He was named player of the year by the Peoria Journal Star, first team all-conference, first team all-state 3A, second team all-state 3A-4A and will play in the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association all-star game this summer.

He will join the Lincoln College squad that finished last season 30-6 and won the NJCAA national championship. The Lynx have three starters coming back next year.

"What impressed our coaching staff with Tylon was two things: Number one was his toughness and ability to win, and number two, he comes from a great program -- we know he was well-coached by Mike Ellis," said Kirk Whiteman, head coach for the Lynx.

"Tylon will be a great fit for our program for the next two years, and we are excited to have such a great young man represent our program."
