Grains futures rise, livestock prices mostly fall

[May 20, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures traded higher Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

InsuranceWheat for July delivery added 4.25 cents to $4.72 a bushel; July corn gained 3.25 cents to $3.63 a bushel; July soybeans rose 6.5 cents to $9.46 a bushel; and July oats jumped 2.25 cents to $1.9525 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures mostly fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle slipped 0.38 cent to 92.37 cents a pound; August feeder cattle dropped 0.65 cent to $1.1192 a pound; June lean hogs gained 0.20 cent to 81.50 cents a pound; and July pork bellies shed 0.75 cent to 99 cents a pound.
