Sunney Art Center to host an art camp June 7-11

[May 21, 2010]  Kit Sunderland, owner of Sunney Art Center, will host an art camp June 7-11 at her studio in Lincoln. The camp will meet at 205 S. Sangamon from 1 to 4 each afternoon.

This is the second year that Sunderland is offering art camps through her studio. She is also traveling to sessions in other Illinois towns, including Montgomery, Romeoville, Naperville and her hometown -- Tuscola. Each camp lasts one week, three hours a day, and is offered to students in first through eighth grade.

The camps will consist of a variety of media and techniques.

Sunderland received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis on painting from Northern Illinois University. She has been teaching private and group art lessons and selling her work since 1996.

After this summer, Sunderland and her Sunney Art Center will be relocating to northern Illinois, where she will continue to offer classes, workshops and art camps. She also plans to continue to offer annual summer art camps in multiple towns, including Lincoln.
