Welcome to Schweitzer Field

They say the third time is the charm, and so it was with the christening of Schweitzer Field at Lincoln Community High School. After two previous cancellations due to rain, the school finally was able to commemorate Schweitzer's career as girls' softball coach from 1979 to 2005 by naming the field after him.

Ken says he has many fond memories and memorable moments, including playing in two regional championship games. But most of all he says he has great memories of all the girls who played for him over his long and great career.

Ken isn't done rooting for LCHS softball or being involved. He excused himself to go keep the scorecard for the evening's game.

The sign signifies the tribute to Ken and his coaching career.

Ken listens as Steve Sauer reads a tribute to the coach.

And it wouldn't be a Ken Schweitzer day if there wasn't a ballgame.
