[May 26, 2010]  Tammy Pourchot was recently announced as ALMH May Employee of the Month.

Pourchot has served in the inpatient pharmacy for a little over a year and has also worked as a member of the medical-surgical and same-day care departments during her time at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

InsuranceA 12-year employee, Pourchot says that "the time just flies by" each day on the job, because "if the rest of the hospital is busy, then we are busy."

As both a certified pharmacy technician and nurse technician, Pourchot says that one of the trickiest parts of a health care career can be keeping up with certification requirements. She says that learning the various steps of the process may prevent some people from applying but that "it's a good job to have after you get used to it."

Pourchot enjoys working at ALMH because of her relationships with both the staff and the patients. She loves that a small hospital gives her the opportunity to become like family with her co-workers, and also says that she has met many patients she will never forget.

Pourchot was nominated by a fellow employee who said, "Tammy is always willing to help others and always has a smile on her face. She really makes ALMH a great place to work!"

ALMH employs more than 290 in a wide variety of job functions. A different employee is honored each month for their commitment to creating great patient experiences, getting great results and making ALMH a great place to work.
