Saturday morning, things went a little sideways in the city of Lincoln. Sometime before 10:30 a.m., city police Chief Ken Greenslate decided he would prefer a life of crime. Of course, he was caught and held in the Logan County Safety Complex, but then the clever chief escaped.
Mayor Keith Snyder, in a stunning turn of events, decided that he would have to take command of the situation, and he became a "Boy in Blue" in pursuit of the escapee.
When the two met up at Latham Park, though, they were excited to see about 25 to 30 kids there getting ready to go trick-or-treating to downtown merchants.
Forgetting all else, they joined in the fun and led the children on a walking parade through the downtown area in search of candy!
