Red Lions get at-large bid

[November 02, 2010]  GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Red Lions volleyball team of Lincoln Christian University was selected as one of the "at-large" teams to take part in the National Christian College Athletic Association’s national tournament in Kissimmee, Fla., Nov. 11-13. Along with Florida Christian College, they will join the eight regional qualifiers making up the 10-team field.

The 18-12 Red Lions are seeded sixth and will be seeking their third title, having won in 1998 and 2003.

LCU coach Jason Farr’s team will be led by all-region players Krystine Schnautz, Jamie McFadden and Lydia Bunting. They will receive a lot of help from regional "Newcomer of the Year" Emily Sheley as well as Anna Devillez and Rachel Langseth.

The complete field as they are seeded is as follows:

  1. Clearwater Florida

  2. Kentucky Christian

  3. Ozark Christian

  4. Maranatha Baptist

  5. Grace University

  6. Lincoln Christian

  7. Providence

  8. Lancaster

  9. Multnomah

  10. Florida Christian

Lincoln Christian will be in Pool B and will first play Ozark Christian and then Kentucky Christian at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

They will continue pool play on Friday, when they meet Providence and Florida Christian at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Semifinals will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. and noon, followed by the championship game at 4 p.m.
