[November 04, 2010]  INA -- Opening the regular season with an away game, the Lincoln College men's basketball team played Rend Lake on Wednesday.

The first half saw many lead changes, with neither team getting up by more than four points. The Lynx led 44-40 after a rough first half, with seven Lincoln players having two fouls each.

It was a game of runs as Lincoln created some spurts on the defensive end and made some easy transition layups to push the lead to 10 with 10 minutes remaining and was able to hang on for the 89-76 win.

Lincoln is 1-0 for the season and Rend Lake 0-1.

Lincoln coaching comments:

"We are going to have to do better at the defensive end of the floor. We will see what we are made of this Friday vs. Kirkwood when we play them in Quincy, Ill.

"We had 10 players get quality minutes tonight. I like our depth, but we will have to find some consistency at some point."
