Miss. warrant prepared for arrest of Gary Collins

[November 05, 2010]  JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Police in Mississippi are preparing an arrest warrant for actor and former TV host Gary Collins for leaving the scene of a car accident.

Jackson officer Colendula Green said Thursday police are waiting for a judge to sign off on the warrant.

Green said the 72-year-old Collins hit a car Tuesday at a traffic light. Collins allegedly exchanged information with the other driver, but said it was taking too long for police to arrive and left. An officer went to his house and wrote him a ticket.

Green said the warrant was being prepared because the other driver pressed charges for him allegedly leaving the scene.

Collins' attorney did not immediately respond to a message.
