Some notable swims came from the men's 200 medley relay (Bohman,
Canene, Cury, Alberto-Requejo), setting a pool record with a time of
1:34.41. The record was previously held by University of
Illinois-Chicago. Bryce Bohman also set a pool record in the 100
backstroke (:50.80), which was faster than he went to win the event
at the 2010 NJCAA national championships. Other individual event
winners were Gabe Cury in the 1,000 and 500 free, Ashlyn Schleder in
the 100 free, and Milton Alberto-Requejo in the 100 free.
Lincoln coach Jake Sexton commented: "I was extremely pleased
with how we performed tonight. Although we didn't come home with a
victory, we held our own against an NCAA Division 1 program. It was
the first meet of the season, and we were able to find some things
to build off of. We are extremely anxious about the upcoming
season."
The Lynx were scheduled to be back in the water Saturday morning,
traveling to Decatur to take on Millikin University.
