The Mount Pulaski High School girls and boys basketball teams are going to have scrimmages in honor of Coach Rucks. This is to welcome him home and get him back in the gym. Rucks has been fighting several different medical issues for the past year and a half. The event will be on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m., and they are calling it "Hoops for Coach Rucks." There will be raffles, T-shirts and 50/50 drawing. The girls basketball team is going to donate all the money they make that night to Rucks to help him with medical expenses. Come and watch some basketball.

The Atlanta community blood drive needs your help to help ensure an adequate blood supply for area hospitals. There will be a blood drive at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 805 Pearl St. in Atlanta, on Thursday, Nov. 18, from noon to 6 p.m. For your convenience, call Vicki to sign up at 648-2868 or schedule an appointment online at cicbc.org. Walk-ins are also welcome and truly appreciated.
