[November 20, 2010]  On Tuesday, the Lincoln College men's basketball team is inviting area students to "Pack the Jack Night" at Jack Nutt Arena in the Lincoln Center on the Lincoln College campus.

Students will receive free admission to the Lynx game by displaying their student ID. Free admission will be available to grade school, junior high students and high school students and recent high school graduates.

The Lynx, who are currently ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Division II national poll, host Lake Land College for the event. At present, LC has a record of 7-0 this season, while the visiting Lakers are currently 7-1.

Although the Lynx finished last season with a national championship and a 30-6 record, Lake Land won both meetings between the two squads last season.

LC coach Kirk Whiteman is hoping that a large turnout from the community -- especially among students -- can help create a home-court advantage for the Lynx, who feature former LCHS guard Louie Schonauer and Florida State signee Kiel Turpin among their starting five.

"Our players really feed off the energy of a good home crowd, and our own students will be off campus on Thanksgiving break," said Whiteman. "We would really love to have some enthusiastic students that night. Hopefully, the students can be loud and supportive and help give us an edge in a game that I expect to be our toughest test so far this season."
