[November 22, 2010]  TYLER, Texas -- The Lincoln College men's soccer program capped its best season in history with a win at the NJCAA national tournament. The Lynx (18-2-4) defeated Darton (17-5) by the score of 2-0 in the consolation bracket to finish fifth in the nation.

It was a back-and-forth game with both teams coming close to scoring, but at the end of the first half the score was 0-0.

The second half was a much better half by Lincoln, with several great chances and several great buildups that led to quality chances on goal.

The game-opening and winning goal came with four minutes left in the fifth-place game when Stiven Salinas slotted Edwin Moalosi, who then found the back of the net from a tight angle.

The final goal was one of the best of the season as Moalosi crossed a ball to far post, where Isai Lemus passed the ball across the goal mouth with his chest and found Rodrigo Buitrago, who struck the ball one time into the back of the net to end the game and the season on a good note.

The Lincoln coaching staff said it was a great showing for the program at the national championship, ending with winning the consultation bracket and a fifth place nationally.

The final record of 18-2-4 is the best in the history of the Lynx soccer program.
