[November 24, 2010]  KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) -- President Barack Obama has a live-in pastry chef, but he quickly gave in to the temptations staring back at him from the display cases at a local bakery.

He ordered pumpkin rolls, cinnamon rolls, apple fritters and doughnuts at the Gingerbread House Bakery.

The president said his daughters, Malia and Sasha, typically don't have dessert during the week. But with Thanksgiving just two days away, he said, "You've got to splurge a little bit."

The White House says the husband-and-wife owners received a $140,000 loan from the economic stimulus to buy the former doughnut shop. It opened nearly a year ago.

Obama visited Kokomo to highlight how his administration is helping the city recover from economic hard times.
