Red Lions prevail

[November 24, 2010]  The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University started slow and ineffective but turned the game around with a rally in the last four minutes of the first half to defeat the Beavers of Blackburn College 78-76. Trailing 26-15, LCU outscored BC 16-4 to take a 31-30 lead at the break. Kevin Watson scored 10 points in succession with two 3-point baskets, a 2-pointer and two free throws during the spurt.

InsuranceThe second half was nip and tuck with LCU leading by two to four points for most of the period until they fell behind 76-72 with 2:24 left. The Red Lions then scored the last six points of the contest to register a hard-fought victory.

The Red Lions were led by Chris Lawson with 25 points, Watson with 16 points and Josiah Brock with 15 points. Four other players scored for LCU.

The Red Lions are now 4-1 for the season and will be at home again Dec. 8 when they face Principia College.
