Pat Snyder sets her shopping bags at her feet as she reaches for her wallet to pay for a purchase from Dave Boyd. Snyder was attending the 16th annual Pride of the Prairie Folk Art and Craft Show Saturday, just as she does every year, purchasing special gifts for special members of her family.
Snyder wasn't the only one taking advantage of unique, one-of-a-kind merchandise at reasonable prices, as similar scenes were repeated throughout the room.

Julie Shipman shows off hats she made from wool harvested from the alpaca that she and husband Rodney raise at the New Beginnings Ranch near Hillsboro.

Two representatives from the Quilters at Heart Quilt Guild tended the booth for that organization. Items offered for sale were made by various guild members.

Dave Boyd stands proudly with his collection of handmade wooden toys.

Jody Phillips works on a hand-painted ornament between visiting with shoppers.

Phillips' daughter, Natalie, shows off custom-made gift tags that she is selling. Phillips said that crafting is a mom-daughter activity that the two enjoy doing together.

Renee Sisk of the Dragonfly Art Studio in Elkhart was there with several beautiful pieces of artwork.

Don Bode of Bode's Welding is one happy guy as he sits at his booth offering his own handmade metal art.

And of course it can't be a good party without a little food. Shoppers were treated to complimentary coffee, cookies and candies to enjoy as they shopped.
