[May 10, 2011]  Friday night the Main Street Lincoln organization hosted their annual Christmas parade. There were approximately 50 entries in the parade and a good crowd gathered to watch, but the highlight of the night may very well have been the arrival of the jolly elf himself.

HardwareSanta Claus has been in Lincoln a lot lately. As a matter of fact, it's one of his favorite places to visit and shop, much to the delight of downtown merchants who encourage you to follow Santa's example and shop locally this year.

Main Street Lincoln has notified media of this year's parade winners. They are:

Floats:

  • First place: Cub Scout Pack 111  -- $250

  • Second place: Girl Scout Troop 6344 -- $150

  • Third place: Girl Scout Troop 6603 -- $75

Walking units:

  • First place: Lincoln YMCA cheerleaders -- $75

  • Second place: New Beginnings Thrift Shoppe and Genesis Ministries -- $50

  • Third place: Puritan Springs Water -- $25
