Salvation Army disaster services under way for displaced family after fire

[May 10, 2011]  A family of seven has been displaced from their home in Lincoln. The Salvation Army of Logan County responded on-scene with fire and emergency medical personnel Friday night.

Temporary housing has been provided for the family, and disaster services will continue as the family takes the next steps for recovery and toward new permanent housing.

Emergency shelter was also secured for the family's surviving seven pets.

The Salvation Army will continue to act as lead agency in the relief and long-term recovery efforts for the family.

Financial donations for the family's benefit may be made payable to The Salvation Army with memo line marked "November Fire Disaster" and mailed to: The Salvation Army, PO Box 52, Lincoln, IL, 62656.

More information on unmet needs will be released to the larger community as it is available.
