Lynx men's golf and women's soccer

[October 01, 2010]  The following are reports from LC sports teams in action on Thursday:

Men's golf

SPRINGFIELD -- Lincoln College men's golf dropped a match to Kaskaskia College and beat Benedictine University in a triangular meet Thursday at Panther Creek in Springfield.

Head coach Kirk Whiteman commented:

"Our sophomores need to be more consistent. We will be playing Panther Creek on Sunday and Monday against 12 other teams in the Illinois State JUCO tournament. Hopefully the guys have an idea on how to manage the course after today."

Panther Creek is a par-72 course.

Lincoln scores:

  • Evin Faught (Mount Zion), 85

  • Zach Brown (Mount Zion), 82

  • Tim Yeager (Waterloo), 84

  • Cody Scott (East Peoria), 81

  • Lucas Woolridge (Clinton), 88

Team score: 332

Benedictine University team score: 337

Kaskaskia College team score: 322

Women's soccer

KASKASKIA -- Lincoln College women's soccer lost to Kaskaskia College 3-1 on Thursday.

Kaskasia's record is now 9-3 and Lincoln is 1-9.

Lincoln coach Amber Angermeier commented: "The ladies came out and fought hard today. Alexandrea Reed scored on an excellent assist from Sierra Davis. Although the final score didn't reflect a win, I am very proud of the way the ladies played today."
