[October 16, 2010]  With a special ceremony, Lincoln College recognized two young Logan County artists: Danielle Burgrabe and Haley Welch, both of Lincoln, who created winning designs in their respective age groups in a contest for a new Lynx logo.

Their contributions were recognized before a crowd of players, coaches and fans on Sept. 21, during a homestand by the Lady Lynx volleyball team at Jack D. Nutt Arena.

Danielle and Haley were escorted to midcourt by Lincoln College President Jon Astroth, and the girls were presented framed copies of their prize-winning designs, which are now on display in the Lincoln Center.

The design contest for a new Lynx logo kicked off earlier this year and was open to all elementary and junior high school-age students in Logan County. Students were invited to submit new Lynx mascot logo designs, with the winning entries to be used for promotional purposes.

Danielle attends Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln and Haley was a student at Lincoln Junior High last year.

Lincoln College athletes and coaches hosted a pizza party for each winner and their classmates last spring. Each winner was also presented with a Lincoln College T-shirt and certificate recognizing her accomplishment.
