Accidents

Oct. 14, 5:41 p.m.

Accident occurred in the 1400 block of Woodlawn (Kroger parking lot exit).

  • Constant, Terry D., 46-year-old male, Lincoln; 1984 Ford F-150

  • Cummings, Dolores A., 79-year-old female, Lincoln; 2002 Ford Crown Victoria

Constant said he had approached the exit from Kroger parking lot onto Woodlawn, stopped, then proceeded to turn into the correct lane, when Cummings "came out of nowhere" and struck him. He said that Cummings drove around him, then hit him.

Cummings said she was driving north in the parking lot, heading to the exit, with Constant coming from the right. She said Constant failed to yield the right of way and struck her car.

Constant was ticketed for the incident.

Oct. 15, 11:30 p.m.

Accident occurred on South State Street 130 feet south of Seventh Street.

  • Davis, Ryan G., 19-year-old male, Lincoln; 2000 Mazda Protégé owned by Jace Barnes

Davis said he was southbound on State Street when he reached down to pick up something from the floorboard of the car. His vehicle swerved, struck a traffic sign, left the roadway, crossed a grass lawn and struck a garage. The vehicle proceeded further and struck a utility pole before coming to a full stop in the alley.

Davis was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.

Oct. 16, 4:40 p.m.

Accident occurred at North Ottawa and Keokuk streets.

  • Winters, John D., 70-year-old male, Winamac, Ind.; 2002 Ford Ranger

  • Galvin, Michael E., 50-year-old male, Lincoln; 2005 Dodge Ram owned by Derrick McCray

Galvin was eastbound on Keokuk when Winters turned off Ottawa and sideswiped his vehicle. Winters said he had intended to turn into the inside lane and would have avoided Galvin, but he mistakenly turned too wide.

Winters was ticketed.

Oct. 16, 8:36 p.m.

A licensed driver under the age of 18 struck a utility pole in the vicinity of Clinton and South McLean while attempting to back down an alley.

Oct. 18, 3:37 p.m.

Two licensed drivers under the age of 18 were involved in a minor accident in the vicinity of the Lincoln IGA. One driver was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.

Lincoln Police Department report for Wednesday, Oct. 20

  • Fouch, Emanuel D., 20-year-old male, of Chicago, arrested Oct. 19 at the intersection of Fourth and State Street on Class A charge of driving with a license suspended. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Logan County Sheriff's Department report for Wednesday, Oct. 20

  • Cosme, Domingo, 26-year-old male, of Decatur, was arrested Oct. 19 on Illinois Route 121 at 800 Street near Mount Pulaski on Class A charge of driving with a license revoked. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
