[October 30, 2010]  CINCINNATI (AP) -- Police said nurses examining a pregnant jail inmate in Cincinnati found a baby wasn't the only thing she was carrying.

Police said 24-year-old January Newport was being prepared for a cesarean section last month when nurses found hidden in her vagina some 15 pills used to treat anxiety.

The Dayton woman had been arrested the day before on a theft charge alleging she stole a computer from a Cincinnati area Walmart store. The Cincinnati Enquirer said police explained they don't routinely do body cavity searches on new inmates.

Newport pleaded guilty Thursday to theft and illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse. She will be sentenced Nov. 16.

No information was released about her baby.
