Lincoln Christian in finals

[October 30, 2010]  LANSING, Mich. -- It took four games, but the Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University defeated No. 2 seed Moody Bible Institute to advance to the championship game at the NCCAA Mid-West Regional Volleyball Tournament, 25-17, 25-13, 23-25, 25-22.

LCU, 18-11 for the season, will now face No. 1 seed Maranatha Baptist Bible College in the finals at 1 p.m. Saturday for an opportunity to advance to the national tournament in Kissimmee, Fla.

The Red Lions controlled the net throughout the match with 62 kills and 36 blocks. Krystine Schnautz led the way with 24 kills, 18 digs and six blocks. She received a lot of help from Jamie McFadden with 17 kills, 16 digs and six blocks and Emily Sheley with 12 kills, two digs and nine blocks. Lydia Bunting garnered 43 assists and eight digs, while Anna Devillez added 25 digs.
