Jennifer Esposito guest starring on 'Blue Bloods'

[September 01, 2010]  LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Jennifer Esposito is joining the force.

CBS said Wednesday that Esposito will guest star on several episodes of "Blue Bloods," a new drama about a family with deep roots in law enforcement.

The series' ensemble cast includes Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg and Bridget Moynahan. Esposito will be featured in several episodes as Wahlberg's partner in the New York Police Department.

Esposito's TV credits include "Rescue Me" and "Samantha Who?" She is scheduled to appear on "Blue Bloods" around mid-October.

"Blue Bloods" debuts Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. Eastern. The drama's creators are Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green, who have worked on shows including "The Sopranos" and "Northern Exposure."
