[September 03, 2010]  Lincoln College men's soccer (3-0) defeated Region 24 opponent Lewis and Clark (2-1) at home by the score of 2-0.

The game started with Stiven Salinas (Miami, Fla.) scoring a brilliant upper 90 goal in the fourth minute after receiving a cross from Tom Spalding (England).

Lincoln would go on to have nine shots stopped by Lewis and Clark's keeper that half. Despite outplaying Lewis and Clark, Lincoln only led 1-0 at halftime.

The game would open up a bit in the second half with both teams getting quality chances on frame. Salinas received an errant pass and chipped the goalie from 20 yards out to finish the game off 2-0.

The back four of Fernando Cano, Daniel Marulanda, Charlie Jones and Julian Roman helped keep the clean sheet, with goalkeeper Jarod Thomas recording six saves in the game.

Season stat line: Lincoln's Salinas now has eight goals in three games. Lincoln has only allowed one goal in three games now

Lincoln hosts Greenville College on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
