[September 02, 2010]  During the final day of balloon and art festival activities, a Lincoln family of six -- one adult and five children -- was displaced from their home by fire.

The Salvation Army of Logan County responded on Sunday to address emergency needs for the family, providing shelter, food and adjunct social services.

Temporary housing has been provided.

The Salvation Army requests that members of the community who desire to assist in the family's recovery provide financial donations specifically designated to Emergency Disaster Services for Logan County. Financial donations are most helpful at this point and will provide the greatest assistance to the family. Donations of household goods or furniture are not requested at this time.

The Salvation Army will continue to work as lead agency for the family in disaster relief and long-term recovery from the home loss.

As more specific information is available concerning unmet long-term recovery needs, The Salvation Army will provide an update for the community.
