WL-B baseball team wins county tournament

[September 07, 2010]  West Lincoln-Broadwell (10-3) won the Logan County junior high baseball tournament 8-7 on Saturday in a hard-fought victory over a tough Mount Pulaski team.

Payton Ebelherr (5-0) was the winning pitcher, striking out nine Bruins in five innings of work, allowing three runs. Jordan Yarcho got the save, striking out four hitters in two innings.

Leading the Wolverine hitting attack, Levi Curry was 3 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Ebelherr helped his own cause with two hits and a run scored. Brock Byrge had two hits, a runs scored and an RBI. Brayden Curry had a hit and two runs scored.

For Mount Pulaski, Blake Collier had two hits and two runs scored; Michael Lowery had two hits and two RBIs; Cam Dambacher had two hits, a run scored and two RBIs; and Beau Collier had two hits.
