[September 11, 2010]  BERLIN (AP) -- Yoko Ono's new installation centers on a perfectly round bullet hole shot through a large pane of glass.

InsuranceJohn Lennon's widow says challenges viewers to confront "incredible violence and abuse" in the world today.

The installation by the 77-year-old artist is titled "Das Gift" -- a play on the word's meaning in English, a present, and in German, poison.

Ono said she wanted to exhibit it in Berlin -- where it opened Friday -- because the city's turbulent history parallels the turmoil that touched her own life, including Lennon's assassination 30 years ago in December.

She said the bullet piece was not originally intended as a tribute to the former Beatle. But she told the AP: "Then when I made it, I thought, ah, I remember."
