[September 13, 2010]  DeKALB -- The men's and women's cross-country teams from Lincoln College competed at the NIU Open in DeKalb on Saturday

The men placed fourth out of seven teams. They were led by sophomore Jeff Wooldridge, who placed seventh overall with a time of 27:34.

The women placed sixth out of 10 teams. They were led by sophomore Megan Herrman, who placed 54th with a time of 21:40.

LC coach Brian Herron said:

"We did a better job this week. This was a much harder course and most of our runners had a significant drop in time. As long as they continue to progress we should have a very good shot of placing in the top 25 in the nation for both teams. The other big point today was that we beat all the other two-year programs.

"Next week is a huge meet at ISU. I am very excited to see what we can do against the best competition in the state of Illinois."
