LC seemed in command of the match during the first two sets, winning
by scores of 25-21 and 25-18; however, SCC stormed back to take sets
three and four 25-19 and 25-17. With their backs against the wall,
the Lady Lynx came out fighting in the deciding set to 15 and built
an 8-2 lead. After several long, intense rallies, Lincoln took the
match by a final score of 15-10. In earlier action, Lincoln

LC coach Mark Tippett commented:
"Winning this tournament was a great step forward for our
team. We showed that we can pass well enough to run a quick offense
and play team defense. If a team can do those two things, it can win
a lot of matches at this level. Our players also showed they can
maintain poise under pressure, which there was plenty of in the
championship match. Southeastern was inconsistent in the first two
sets, but their jump servers figured out how to keep the ball in and
really hammered us in the third and fourth sets. I was very proud of
the way we stepped up to the challenge in set five and stuck
together to get the win."
Lincoln's next match will be at home on Wednesday evening versus
Parkland College.
