[September 15, 2010]  WASHINGTON (AP) -- A new book says "Real Housewives of D.C." star Michaele Salahi has multiple sclerosis, a potentially debilitating disease that Salahi says she has kept secret for years.

The book "Cirque Du Salahi," by Diane Dimond, says the disease is the reason Michaele Salahi is so thin.

The book also says a sudden spell of tingling and vertigo forced Salahi and her husband to make an early departure from a White House state dinner last year, where they claimed to have had conversations with President Barack Obama.

The Salahis were not on any of the guest lists and did not receive the typical engraved invitation to the exclusive event. That prompted changes to security policies and the punishment of three Secret Service officers.
