[September 16, 2010]  Main Street Lincoln is pleased to announce the culmination of their cell phone interpretive project, which encompasses the installation of the Abraham Lincoln Heritage signs. The signs were made possible by an Illinois Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Grant and Main Street Lincoln. A total of 49 interpretive stops are included in the cell phone tour, with 29 sites indicated by Lincoln Heritage signs, significant markers or historic buildings.

On Saturday, the following signs will be dedicated, initiating the cell phone tour of those locations. The public is invited to attend all dedications. The dedication schedule on Saturday is as follows:
  • 10:30 a.m. -- Sangamon Street Banking Center, where stops 28, 29 and 30 will be dedicated.

    • Stop 28 -- Old Depot, sponsored by Stuart and Linda Churchill and Board Enterprises, and Elm Park, sponsored by Jacquelyn Baker, Paul Beaver, Theresa Richert and Wanda Lee Rohlfs.

    • Stop 29 -- Lincoln House, sponsored by General Federation of Woman's Clubs, and Farewell, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Lincoln.

    • Stop 30 -- Douglas Day, sponsored by the Lincoln Elks Club, and Farewell Train, sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Lincoln.
