LCHS transportation class learns hands-on

Lincoln Community High School transportation class is currently using five small engines donated by Briggs & Stratton to get hands-on practice in tearing down and engine assembly. The internal workings of a small gas engine are similar to a gasoline engine in an automobile. The students are learning the basics of how each part is needed to make up an engine. Engine assembly requires reading skills and following instructions, using hands-on skills. Students have the choice of continuing in the automotive field in higher level classes for two additional years.
