[September 23, 2010]  STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- College students who weren't alive the last time Kansas had a hit will benefit from the progressive rock band's latest tour -- a series of performances with university symphonies.

The '70s supergroup is known for songs like "Dust in the Wind" and "Carry On Wayward Son." Drummer Phil Ehart says the tour makes sense because the band's music fits well symphonically, so it's a natural progression for symphonies and Kansas to play together.

Kansas will perform with Oklahoma State University's symphony Thursday and Friday. Its tour includes stops in Alabama, Missouri, Texas and, of course, Kansas.

Oklahoma State senior Colby Bunch, a drummer in the school's symphony, says that even today, the group's songs are ones that everybody should know.
