[September 23, 2010]  The Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership facilitated Logan County’s second manufacturing council meeting on Wednesday morning. Six of the largest manufacturers in Logan County participated in the meeting, hosted by Eaton Corp.

State Rep. Rich Brauer and Jeff Torricelli, central regional manager for the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, spoke to the group regarding tax credits and upcoming programs and bills in the next legislative session. In addition, each organization had the opportunity to introduce themselves and network among each other.

A council such as this enables manufacturers to network and as a result can form new joint projects, thus creating more jobs in Logan County. The group in Logan County will meet three to four times per year with new guest speakers each time. The next meeting will be on Jan. 14 with guest speaker Sen. Larry Bomke.

The Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership is the economic development agency for the city of Lincoln and Logan County. For further information, please contact Joel A. Smiley, executive director, at 217-732-8739.
