[September 24, 2010]  ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- An eastern Pennsylvania woman whose toddler son died in a bedroom accident after she left him unsupervised has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Prosecutors say Marianella Torres-Matos left her 14-month-old son and his 2-year-old sister alone in an Allentown apartment while she ran errands. They say she locked the children in a bedroom for about two hours on Nov. 19.

When she returned she discovered a 160-pound dresser had toppled onto her son. The boy was revived but later died at a hospital.

Torres-Matos wept Thursday at the Lehigh County Court hearing, during which she also pleaded guilty to corruption of minors. She faces up to 15 years in prison when she's sentenced Nov. 1.
