Guillen: 'Stupid to play in Cleveland right now'

[April 01, 2011]  CLEVELAND (AP) -- Always opinionated White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen considers it "very stupid to play in Cleveland right now" after his team's workout was forced indoors because of snow and cold weather.

On the day before the season opener, a few of Chicago's players built a snowman inside Progressive Field, where several inches of snow fell on Wednesday. The ballpark's grounds crew spent most of Thursday shoveling and removing the snow for Friday's opener between the White Sox and Indians.

Guillen said the cold weather has to be expected, especially in Cleveland, where games have been postponed in the past by snow.

Indians manager Manny Acta said it was good that his team came back to Ohio a few days early to get ready for the frigid conditions after training in Arizona.
