Senior workshops sponsored by Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home

[April 01, 2011]  ATLANTA -- Today's economic conditions present many problems for seniors. In response, Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home is sponsoring a "Take the Risk Out of Your Retirement" workshop in Atlanta and McLean in early April.

The workshops will be on April 17 at the McLean Christian Church and on April 12 at the Atlanta-Eminence Memorial Community House. Both begin at 10 a.m.

Some of the topics to be covered are:

• Mistakes seniors make with retirement accounts.

• New Medicare changes -- how they affect your current plan.

• Why long-term care protection is important to your estate plan, now more than ever.

• New laws that have been passed and how they will affect seniors.

• Alternative options for low interest-bearing accounts.

• How to lower your retirement risk.

This is an educational workshop with no sales or investment products presented. The funeral home previously sponsored another senior workshop and said they frequently get questions from families they serve about where to go for information or assistance on senior-related matters. 

Each family will receive a packet of resource material for their personal use.  Refreshments will be served and attendance prizes drawn.
